Transarterial Radioembolization (TARE)

Trusted by Patients From 35+ Countries

Who is an Eligible Candidate for TARE in India?

TARE is suitable for patients with primary or metastatic liver cancer who are not candidates for surgery or ablation. It is often considered for patients with tumors confined primarily to the liver and adequate liver function. Pre-treatment evaluation includes detailed imaging and functional assessments.

Types of TARE

The procedure involves Yttrium-90 (Y-90) radioembolization, a form of targeted internal radiation therapy delivered directly to liver tumors.

Procedure of TARE

Before the main treatment, a mapping angiography is performed to assess blood flow and ensure safe delivery. During the procedure, a catheter is guided into the liver’s blood vessels, and Y-90 microspheres are injected into the arteries feeding the tumor. These microspheres emit localized radiation that destroys cancer cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

Best For:

Patients requiring targeted radiation therapy for liver tumors.

Advantages of TARE:

TARE offers precise tumor targeting, minimal systemic side effects, and effective disease control with a minimally invasive approach.
